ARISE Plus Lao PDR Workshop 2: Advanced Export Potential Analysis and Trade Policy Modelling

The EU funded ARISE Plus Lao PDR project promotes inclusive economic growth, increased climate change resilience, mitigation of vulnerability and job creation in Lao PDR. The specific objectives are to improve the business environment with a focus on regional economic integration (ASEAN); and to increase trade and participation in global value-chains.

In this context, the objective of the workshop “Advanced Export Potential Analysis and Trade Policy Modelling” is to train key trade policy, promotion, and research institutions in Lao PDR to better identify and leverage trade opportunities.

The workshop will be held through July and August 2021 and it will be organized in three modules. In the first module of the training, participants will work independently on revision exercises at their own pace, with access to support from ITC trainers. The second module will focus on advanced aspects of the Export Potential Map. The third module will focus on trade policy modelling, in particular LDC graduation and FTA implementation. Throughout all modules, participants will be asked to analyse data, complete exercises, work in groups and present some of their work.
