This course introduces participants to the various opportunities and challenges faced by SMEs working in the creative industries, with a particular focus on new technologies and financing schemes. It begins with an overview of the creative industries sector and its various subsectors, outlining their relative importance, trends and challenges, not just nationally, but also sectorally and at the level of individual firms. It then moves on to a detailed discussion of the development, protection and creation of creative products and projects, presenting participants with interesting tips and ideas on using new technologies to enhance the viability of their offering. Finally, the course concludes by demonstrating a number of financing options for SMEs in the creative industries.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduces participants to the various opportunities and challenges faced by SMEs working in the creative industries, with a particular focus on new technologies and financing schemes. It begins with an overview of the creative industries sector and its various subsectors, outlining their relative importance, trends and challenges, not just nationally, but also sectorally and at the level of individual firms. It then moves on to a detailed discussion of the development, protection and creation of creative products and projects, presenting participants with interesting tips and ideas on using new technologies to enhance the viability of their offering. Finally, the course concludes by demonstrating a number of financing options for SMEs in the creative industries.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess the value and viability of participating in the creative industries, and identify the challenges of participating in them;
  • Develop, protect and market creative products and projects using new technologies IP protection regulations and online selling platforms; and
  • Finance creative products and projects through a variety of financing and incentive schemes.

COURSE CERTIFICATION

Participants who meet the course requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion issued in electronic format.
